Embedded Engineer
Job Description:
- Build connected hardware and AI-powered products, taking them from first prototype to full production.
- Plan the overall embedded system, choosing and arranging processors, microcontrollers, sensors, communication links, power supply, and other components.
- Draw up electronic schematics and help with PCB layout, first power-up, testing, and later hardware versions.
- Write and improve the code that runs on the devices, across microcontroller, processor, Linux, and RTOS platforms.
- Get AI and machine-learning features running on small and edge devices, including loading models, running predictions, collecting data, and connecting to AI services.
- Work with the AI and computer-vision teams so cameras, sensors, firmware, and data flows reliably support the models and smart features.
- Connect devices to backend systems, APIs, cloud services, and apps.
- Set up and fix connectivity such as Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, and other wired or wireless links.
- Build working prototypes, then test, debug, and measure how both the hardware and software perform.
- Lead the first power-up and production checks, making sure every manufactured device meets the required specs and quality level.
- Create the processes that make large-scale manufacturing dependable, including production testing, device setup, diagnostics, and firmware rollout.
- Track down and solve tricky hardware, firmware, connectivity, AI, and in-the-field problems through careful testing and log analysis.
- Write tools and scripts that speed up testing, device configuration, monitoring, and day-to-day development.
- Review parts, hardware versions, and design changes to make products more reliable, easier to manufacture, faster, scalable, and cheaper.
- Work with software, AI, mechanical, product, and manufacturing teams, plus suppliers and outside partners, throughout the product's life.
- Keep documentation up to date on system design, hardware, firmware, interfaces, test steps, production methods, and design changes.
- Join planning sessions, design reviews, and technical decisions, and help improve how the team develops and produces devices.
